Our Artists: Notes from the Heart

My name is Cyndi Hayes. I seen a flyer for the Piece by Piece mosaic class they were offering and it was free. I thought to myself that I better take advantage of this. My first project was a pot. I just put different pieces together and the next thing I knew I finished it. I grouted it the following week. I was hooked!

I seen the instructor Dawn's book of all her items she has made. I thought how talented she is and everything was so beautiful. Something so simple and maybe minor to some people, you can create something so exquisite, using broken cups, plates, tiles and glass.

Piece by Piece has opened a new door for me and my family. My daughters love to create all different kinds of stuff. Such as picture frames, hot plates, mirrors and so much more. I recommend the class to all of associates. I can't speak highly enough of all that Piece by Piece has done for me.

I would personally like to thank, Dawn, Sophie and her daughters Michelle, Karin and Linda. They all have been very supportive. I think everyone should take the class. There is an artist in everyone that is waiting to come out!
Best Wishes,
Cyndi Hayes

Me entretiene mucho de los problemas,
olvido los problemas familiares y económicos. Me gusta hacer mosaicos. Es mejor estar haciendo algo que estar > haciendo drogas o vagando en las calles.

The class distracts me from the problems; I forget family and economic problems. I like to make mosaics. It is better to be doing this than doing drugs or just being on the street.

I have been a member of the "Piece by Piece" mosaic workshop for two years and I have been fortunate enough to not have to pay for the classes or the supplies. I couldn't afford it, if I had to pay.

Piece by Piece mosaic workshop has helped me become a good, serious artist. And, also, I have been able to sell my artwork occasionally. This has helped me in more than one way. It has helped me to get through my bout with breast cancer which has been cured. It has also helped me with my recovery. This activity has increased my self-esteem and has helped me to live a more productive and positive life.

I see that this workshop is helping many people in our community and adjoining communities of all diverse, ethnic backgrounds, families and children, included. "Piece by Piece" has also helped me to enrich my life.
Thank you. Yours truly, Paula LeDuc

My name is Linda Taylor. My husband and I (Donald) have been coming to the mosaic class going on two years now. This class has given both of us the will to learn again. We look forward to Fridays, being with the people. The teachers have become my friends.

Some people do nothing once they retire. However Piece by Piece has given us a will, a new look on life and we also make great items. What a joy to both my husband and myself this class is.

I pray the class is around a very long time.

Thank you,

Donald & Linda Taylor
