A curled up eel sits along the ocean floor, trying its best to make itself one with the rocks lining the bottom. This 10" x 8" monochromatic piece in varying shades of blue was created by certified mosaic artist Kim D in our LA studio. Kim began with Piece by Piece in 2023, where she attended her first class with her mom at the VA.
Pieces are intended for indoor use. Please clean gently with a microfiber cloth.
Kim is passionate about caring for others and believes deeply in community, compassion, and second chances. Her mosaic work reflects her patience, empathy, and love for animals, the ocean, and people. For Kim, Piece by Piece is more than an art program—it’s home.

Piece by Piece provides no-cost mosaic art workshops to low-income residents of South Los Angeles, Skid Row, and surrounding areas. These classes provide folks who need it with the healing power of art by teaching them how to make mosaics, and in turn, the trade enables them to earn income through their unique creations.
Mosaic is a strong medium and we use a variety of new and recycled pieces to create our works of art. Our artists are trained in using the most professional techniques to ensure quality work. However, in rare occasions, there may be need for a repair. Piece by Piece offers repairs due to material defects on purchased items at no cost for two years from date of sale. For items that have been broken, left outside, or in need of other repairs, we will assess the extent of damage and, if repairs are possible, provide a quote to restore your item. We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unused, with tags, and in its original packaging.
