This striking 16" x 16" mosaic wall hanging was created as part of a community art project during the Nowruz Festival, celebrating the Persian New Year through creativity and collaboration. Festival attendees helped lay the foundation of this golden lion—symbol of strength and renewal against a bold navy blue background, accented by leafy stems in each corner.
After the event, our certified mosaic artists from Los Angeles carefully completed and refined the piece, ensuring every tile was thoughtfully placed with attention to texture, symmetry, and detail. Community pieces like this one often begin as class projects or participatory artworks at local events, offering residents a chance to engage in the mosaic process and learn new skills, while our social enterprise artists bring the final vision to life.

Piece by Piece provides no-cost mosaic art workshops to low-income residents of South Los Angeles, Skid Row, and surrounding areas. These classes provide folks who need it with the healing power of art by teaching them how to make mosaics, and in turn, the trade enables them to earn income through their unique creations.
Mosaic is a strong medium and we use a variety of new and recycled pieces to create our works of art. Our artists are trained in using the most professional techniques to ensure quality work. However, in rare occasions, there may be need for a repair. Piece by Piece offers repairs due to material defects on purchased items at no cost for two years from date of sale. For items that have been broken, left outside, or in need of other repairs, we will assess the extent of damage and, if repairs are possible, provide a quote to restore your item. We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unused, with tags, and in its original packaging.
