Village Well Mural

The Village Well Bookstore and Coffee located in Culver City, commissioned Piece by Piece to create this 20-foot long by 18 inches high mural featuring iconic buildings and sites within the city. From the lion fountain to the Culver City stairs to a Helms bakery truck, we worked with the owner to determine over a dozen recognizable images for visitors to delight in.

During COVID-19, a small team of our artists, with safety protocols in place, fabricated the mural using a variety of recycled materials including broken ceramic and repurposed glass.

In addition to our artists working on the project, we engaged the Culver City school district to be a part of this project. We sent out small arts kits of flowers, coffee cups, and hearts to students, who then returned them and saw their work become a part of the mural and throughout other parts of the store.
